Knee

The knee is one of the most frequently injured joints in sports, making it an area our sports medicine physicians are experts at treating.  Modern procedures to repair the injured meniscus and reconstruct the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) have returned many young (and not-so-young) athletes and “weekend warriors” back to their field of dreams.

Treatment of the arthritic knee is also an essential aspect of our practice.  Modern surgery has made knee replacements as safe and successful as hip replacements.  New anesthesia protocols significantly reduce post-operative pain. Total knee replacement is one of modern medicine’s greatest achievements and one of the nation’s most popular operations.
